Mapdex Toolbar Sample Queries Page

This page shows some sample queries using the Mapdex ArcMap Toolbar. You can get the Mapdex ArcMap Toolbar here. In All instances shown below multiple keywords can be separated by either "or" or "and" to search for any or all of the keywords entered.

1) Search for servers containing usgs or noaa

2) Search for mapservice names containing elevation or geology

3) Search for layers containing road or street

4) The total number of columns in the database is huge and the column search takes a long time. We recommend using the column search sparingly. If you need to use it you are better of using the "All" tab to club the column keyword with layer, service and server keywords as shown in the example 5. Search for Columns containing address

5) Search for servers containing "usgs or noaa" for layers containing "road or street" with column containing "address"

6) Layer Search in Current Extent. First Add a map to the ArcMap document and zoom in to the extent you want to search on. Then do a Layer search with the "In Current Extent" option checked. Shown below is a map extent zoomed in to Australia and a search for layers containing "photo or ortho or image" in the current extent.
